Of all of our Unexpected Pre-Raphaelite Sightings, this one surprised me the most. We are avid Netflix users and my daughter and I have been watching Cheers together. We started at episode 1 a few months ago and we reached season 10 over the weekend. We just watched season 10′s Halloween episode and you can imagine how surprised I was when Frasier and Lilith enter the bar and announce that they are dressed as Dante Gabriel Rossetti and his sister Christina:

I was so shocked! Ok, I can’t really picture Christina Rossetti in pink and I wasn’t thrilled with Lilith’s pronunciation of ‘Pre-Raphaelite’, but it was AWESOME!
How was it pronounced?
The episode is titled Bar Wars V: The Final Judgement. Cheers Season 10.
She really drew it out. I can’t describe it very well. But she drew the word out more than we Americans normally do.

Hee! Frasier looks pretty darn good, but that seems… awfully pink for Christina. Or for Lilith, actually. Though I can certainly see Christina appealing to Lilith’s temperament!
Yes, I can not imagine Christina wearing pink. Lilith is one of my favorite characters, I just love Bebe Neuwirth.
How in the world did I ever miss this? I’ve seen (I thought) every Cheers episode several times over, both before and after awareness of the PRB. Crazy! I’ll be watching for it. Thanks for posting this.
Although I’m sure Gabriel and Christina wore other colors I can’t imagine them in anything but dark or black clothes!
This is awesome, but I am slightly disturbed by the notion that Spiderman is the lovechild of Rossetti sibs.

I found an earlier episode where Rossetti is mentioned briefly. Remember their ongoing rivalry with Gary’s Tavern? In the episode ‘Bar Wars’, the Cheers gang overrides Gary’s television system during a satellite access only prize fight with a showing of the Norm and Cliff poetry evening. While Cliff and Norm are reading poetry, they mention Rossetti.

I feel a new obsession coming on. Pre-Raphaelite references in pop culture.
Also, Lilith looks a bit more Southern Belle than Christina Rossetti. But still, A for effort!
